What is Ritual Abuse?

The definition used here comes from a great website called RA Information: http://ra-info.org/faqs/.   “Ritual abuse is an extreme, sadistic form of abuse of children and non-consenting adults. It is methodical, systematic sexual, physical, emotional and spiritual abuse, which often includes mind control, torture, and highly illegal and immoral activities such as murder, child pornography and prostitution. The abuse is justified by a religious or political ideology.” Wow. Think your worst nightmare and then some. Some of the more technical and legal aspects of ritual abuse can be found at another very good website: S.M.A.R.T. (Stop Mind Control and Ritual Abuse Today) https://ritualabuse.us/ritualabuse/ .

What is Satanic Ritual Abuse?

Satanic ritual abuse is all of the above done for the purposes of religious worship. The people doing religious ritual abuse may or may not define themselves as “satanic”. However, we offer the observation that anyone doing such extreme abuse in the context of some religious ceremony by definition is doing it by demons. In fact,  ALL RA has a satanic component, just by the nature of what is done. One can’t do such evil without utilizing or at least inviting demonic access.

Can Secular Psychotherapy Deal with This?

This, then, is the lynchpin that requires victims of RA to look further than secular psychotherapy to get free. We are completely in support of the secular therapeutic modalities out there. They are great. This is in no way a condemnation of their usefulness. However, it’s not enough.  A secular therapist will have no idea that there is a spiritual component. They often don’t even believe in the demonic. This website contains a part of a wonderful book called Biblical Healing and Deliverance by Chester and Betsy Kylstra. Find it here.  Here they discuss the many ways that one may unknowingly invite demons or have others attach them to you. Trauma, especially severe trauma, is essentially always associated with some form of demonization. Furthermore, in satanism one of the objectives is to become demonized.

This is Nuts. I don’t believe in Demons.

Does that sound too weird to be true? What if you don’t even believe in demons? Well, much of the world, esp the western world, doesn’t believe in any spiritual beings, until they clearly experience them. Belief in them, unfortunately, doesn’t change the reality of their existence. It always troubles us that with all the incredible evil in the world, anyone would deny the existence of evil supernatural beings. Believe me, they exist. According to the Bible they come to steal, kill, and destroy (John 10:10). In fact, for survivors of ritual abuse, removal of demons is one of the most freeing aspects of therapy. Yes, humankind has tremendous capacities for evil, but think of some of the worst atrocities of the past and the current time (ISIS anyone?). In the news you can now see directly ritual abuse of children. Children are being taught how to assassinate others. This used to be the purview of secret societies and cults. Now it’s in the open, and the world looks away.

How do you know if demons are involved?

There are many ways. The affect of demons often is to make a negative emotion or feeling extreme and uncontrollable. If you are having issues controlling anger, depression, rage, condemnation, self injury, shame, suicide, etc., there is often a demon involved. For those who have accepted Jesus Christ as their Lord, His Spirit lives inside them. He is called Holy Spirit. Holy Spirit can tell you if you have demons, but few people ask Him. Also, many other people are given spiritual discernment by Holy Spirit, and they often can tell if you have demonic attachments. God knows. He knows everything. And He will show you and free you from the evil ones.

The good news is that Jesus Christ is infinitely more powerful

than any demon, or even Satan himself.

So having Jesus on your side assures that you will get free. In cases of  SRA this may take many sessions where demons are identified and removed (and NO, it’s not at all like anything you’ve seen in a movie. The news media likes to sensationalize the death of people at the hands of crazies trying to do exorcisms.) God is gentle. One of the attributes of a person who is indwelt with Holy Spirit is gentleness. It’s done by prayer. Demons who are there have the “legal right” in the spirit realm to be there. We’ll talk more about this in future blogs. However, it’s totally worth it to be free and know that nothing and  no one can interfere with you having the most exciting relationship in the universe, with Jesus.
